Recently, students and teachers at Colegio Albania heard amazing stories from Fernando Gonzalez-Rubio about his mountain climbing experiences.
In 2001, Gonzalez-Rubio became the first Colombian to reach the summit of Mount Everest, the highest in the world. He is also the first Colombian to reach 6 of the 14 highest peaks in the world without artificial oxygen.
He has climbed many of the most dangerous mountains in the world and raised the Colombian flag proudly at each one.
